Rochdale House Removals Review

This house removal was completed in two stages over 2 days. Stage 1, collect household effects from the property in Rochdale. Then stage 2, travel to Newmarket to collect some further household items with the house removals completing the following morning in Southampton.
A 7.5t removals lorry was used plus 2 men to load and unload.

The move I’m reviewing here was actually from Germany to the UK (although there is no option to display this fact in the options above, as it only covers UK domestic moves). I haven’t ever hired a removals firm before and so I put a lot of time into researching them, in order to find a reliable one. I was not disappointed! Nick at MovingEverywhere was very courteous from the start and although the quote I received from him (1.250GBP) was in the middle of the (vast) range of quotes that I got (600-2600GBP), I finally decided that he would be able to provide the kind of attention to detail, honesty and flexibility that i was looking for in a removals firm. As it transpired, Nick himself did not carry out the move – It was sub-contracted to another Removals company. At first, I was a bit miffed at this development, as I felt that I had been mislead somewhat and that my contract with MovingEverywhere was simply being ‘palmed off’ on another company. However, once I got in touch with Darran, I could see that the two companies were very much working in partnership and that I had nothing to fear. I found Darran to be an honest, no-nonsense sort of guy, who was always true to his word. He and his team arrived in Germany on time for the collection, loaded everything that I wanted them to take onto the van (including a few extra bits that weren’t included in the original estimate) and set off for England the same day. My possesions were even lucky enough to have the whole van to themselves (see photo), as there were no other customers in Germany that week (although this is not always the case). The next day, I met them (on time again) in Tunbridge Wells, where they very swiftly and without any fuss unloaded the entire contents of the van, putting everything in the correct rooms (according to a colour-coding system that I’d used on the boxes). Once I got round to unpacking everything, I discovered to nothing at all was either missing, damaged or even marked in any way. A perfect move!!! This isn’t ‘high praise’ – it’s simply a statement of fact. In short, i couldn’t have been happier with the move, unless they’d gone mad and done it for half the price 
. I hope that anyone reading this review will have the same great experience that I did.

We selected Movingeverywhere on the basis of their locality to our final destination (Stockport) as we thought this would result in a more competitive price to a London based firm, which it did. Movingeverywhere also received many positive reviews on the internet. We found this to be a bit of a mine field though with the internet full of suspicious reviews and contradictory reviews for many firms. I can’t recall a single negative review for Movingeverywhere so I requested a quote. Nick was quick to respond to my request and helped steer us through the process without any delay. He was helpful and knowledgeable about the industry which really helped and we soon discarded the o
ther firms we were considering using. In the end Nick employed DMS Services for our move, DMS were excellent. They did exactly what they said they would when they said they would do it (or quicker in the case of loading and unloading). DMS were professional and never flustered by anything thrown their way. They just got on with it and continually reassured us along the way whilst we largely stood and watched. Everything arrived in perfect condition baring one or two VERY minor things which is just part of moving house and less than we have experienced before.
I would not hesitate to use Movingeverywhere again in the future and would recommend to friends and family without a second thought. Great work Nick and Darran. Many thanks for making a stressful time just that little bit less stressful.
